The Integrated Transport Centre (Abu Dhabi Mobility), a Department of Municipalities and Transport affiliate, is collaborating with the Japan Cooperation Center for the Middle East (JCCME) to develop innovative smart mobility solutions.
This initiative represents a significant step toward leveraging advanced technologies to improve transportation networks, efficiency, and sustainability in urban environments, resulting in a better mobility experience.
As part of this collaboration, Abu Dhabi Mobility organized a workshop and a field visit to several projects in Abu Dhabi to facilitate knowledge sharing between the two countries. The focus was on the most recent technological solutions in the field of smart mobility, with both parties demonstrating innovative models for integrating technology into transport networks and developing public transportation systems to ensure efficiency and environmental sustainability.The workshop will cover important topics such as electric vehicle charging, traffic management with artificial intelligence technologies, and wireless energy transfer. The visit to Yas Island included a tour of the Operations Centre for smart mobility projects, as well as demonstrations of autonomous mobility services like RoboTaxi and RoboBus, 3D-printed boats, and marine transport. This demonstrates innovative ways to incorporate smart technologies into transportation operations.
Engineer Abdulla Hamad Al Eryani, Acting Executive Director of the Planning and Strategic Affairs Sector at Abu Dhabi Mobility, emphasized the importance of this collaboration, which aims to develop smart mobility and sustainable transportation solutions.

This collaboration demonstrates our strong commitment to innovation and the use of cutting-edge technologies to improve the efficiency and sustainability of Abu Dhabi's transportation networks. We are confident that this collaboration will strengthen the Emirate's position as a global innovation hub for sustainable transportation."
Abu Dhabi Mobility oversaw the signing of an agreement between Emirates Driving Company and Zenmov, a well-known Japanese mobility technology company. This agreement is part of their strategic partnership, which aims to integrate innovative Japanese mobility solutions and technologies into Abu Dhabi, thereby strengthening the Emirate's leadership role in developing smart mobility technologies, expanding global partnerships, and encouraging technological innovation.
This workshop is one of several initiatives launched by Abu Dhabi Mobility as part of its ongoing efforts to improve the transportation sector in Abu Dhabi. It opens up new opportunities for collaboration in advanced technology and sustainable transportation, as well as improving mutual understanding and facilitating the exchange of knowledge and expertise.
