Amazon India Collaborates with Gentari to Build a 10,000-EV Fleet by 2025

For its EV deployment effort, Amazon India announced a tactical cooperation with Gentari, an electric mobility company. By 2025, the company hopes to have 10,000 electric cars in its fleet for last-mile deliveries.

In order to guarantee the smooth operation and maintenance of the EV fleet, Gentari Green Mobility Business will also supply delivery service partners (DSPs) with comprehensive fleet management services over the course of the next three years, according to Amazon India.

It further stated that more electric three-wheelers would be available for delivery by Delivery Service Providers (DSPs) through the agreement for Amazon deliveries.

"We aim to empower our delivery service partners by providing them with access to the right electric vehicles, end-to-end vehicle life cycle management services, as well as charging and parking facilities," stated Abhinav Singh, VP (Operations) at Amazon India.

By the end of 2023, the business had more than 7,200 EVs in India, and he stated that it was still on pace to meet its target of having 10,000 EVs in the country by 2025. 400 cities around the nation are home to Amazon India's activities.

In addition to providing a large network of EV charging stations, Gentari Green Mobility India also offers customized value-added services and Vehicle-as-a-Service (VaaS) subscriptions.

"As we work together to deploy more EVs and contribute to India's net zero targets, I'm confident this collaboration will pave the way for a cleaner and electric future for India's transportation sector," stated Nikhil Thomas, CEO of Gentari Green Mobility India.
