Several direct and indirect employment opportunities have been advertised in cities like Mumbai, Delhi, Pune, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Lucknow, and Chennai.

"Amazon's commitment to create over 1 lakh seasonal employment opportunities across India is a commendable step towards bolstering the nation's workforce during the festive period," Union Minister of Labour and job Mansukh Mandaviya said in a corporate statement.

"It is encouraging to see the company hiring a significant number of women and persons with disabilities for these roles while prioritizing the well-being of its associates through initiatives focused on their safety, healthcare, and educational support," said the minister.

Amazon stated it employed thousands of women and around 1,900 people with impairments.

"This festive season, we are committed to providing fast and reliable deliveries to customers across every serviceable pin-code in India." To achieve this aim, we have added over 1.1 lakh more people to bolster our fulfillment and logistics networks and guarantee that we can handle growing demand effortlessly," said Abhinav Singh, VP of Operations at Amazon India.

Amazon India has also launched programs like Project Ashray, which provides designated rest areas for delivery workers in locations like Delhi NCR, Mumbai, and Bengaluru.

Sushruta is a welfare scheme in which truck drivers receive healthcare help through early detection, diagnosis, and health camps in certain locations.

The Pratidhi Scholarship provides scholarships for associates' children to pursue a decent education. Furthermore, Amazon India stated that it gives different benefits to its employees, such as onsite medical facilities.

The e-commerce platform organized Samriddhi camps to guarantee that staff enrolled in government programs including the E-Shram portal and Health ID under the PM Jan Aarogya Yojana.
