Bajaj Freedom 125, World's First CNG Bike, Introduced in India: Features, Cost, Mileage, and more

By Consultants Review Team Friday, 05 July 2024

Bajaj Auto has revolutionized the automobile sector with the introduction of the Bajaj Freedom 125, the first motorbike powered by compressed natural gas (CNG). With the push of a button, users of this cutting-edge motorcycle may transition between running on gasoline and compressed natural gas. Although CNG-powered vehicles have been on the market for more than ten years, this is the first time the technology has been applied to a motorbike, not just in India but also worldwide.

The market is about to undergo a change thanks to the arrival of the Bajaj CNG motorbike, which may open the door for other models to use comparable technology. This might result in considerable fuel cost savings and fewer pollutants, addressing two important issues for two-wheeler owners in India. In a country where several towns are often ranked among the world's most polluted, the environmental advantages of such innovation are especially crucial.

With this introduction, Bajaj Auto is setting a new benchmark in the motorcycle industry by providing a more sustainable and cost-effective alternative to traditional fuel sources.

"A very ordinary consumer earning Rs 30,000 to Rs 40,000 per month should anticipate to save around Rs 1,500 per month, depending on how much they attempted. Second, with the government's and companies' emphasis on decarbonization, CNG, while still a carbon-based fuel, has far less carbon content, making it far more environmentally friendly than, say, diesel or gasoline, particularly in terms of carbon-based emissions. So, there is a huge drop in it," Rakesh Sharma, Executive Director of Bajaj Auto stated.
