BlackRock and Microsoft to Launch USD 30 Billion Fund for AI Infrastructure

Microsoft and BlackRock are working together to establish a fund with a target value of over $30 billion, with an emphasis on energy-related projects and artificial intelligence infrastructure for data centers.

AI models, particularly those used in deep learning and substantial data processing, need large computer resources, which increases energy usage.

The need for AI has prompted IT companies to connect thousands of processors in clusters to fulfill data processing demands, resulting in a greater demand for specialized data centers.

BlackRock and Microsoft announced the formation of the Global AI Infrastructure Investment Partnership to improve AI supply chains and energy sources.

The agreement is projected to produce a total investment potential of $100 billion, including loan finance, according to the corporations. According to the firms, the majority of the investments will be made in the United States, with the remainder going to its partner nations.
