After meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi at a high-profile roundtable with tech sector executives, Google CEO Sundar Pichai commended Modi's dedication to pushing India's digital revolution. Pichai emphasized India's expanding significance in the global technological scene and provided insight into how Google is aligning with Modi's agenda, particularly in areas such as artificial intelligence (AI) and manufacturing.

Speaking on the meeting, Pichai stated, "The Prime Minister has been focused on modernizing India. It is the Digital India vision. He urged us to continue creating and designing in India. We are happy to have our Pixel phones built in India."

He also emphasized Modi's focus on AI and its potential to enhance the lives of Indians. "He is really thinking about how AI can transform India in a way that benefits the people of India," according to Pichai. Modi urged technology experts to examine AI applications in fields like as healthcare, education, and agriculture.

Pichai went on to describe Modi's overall goal for the country's technical infrastructure. "He is also thinking about the infrastructure of India - be it data centres, power, energy and investing to make sure that India can transition.

The Google CEO expressed delight in the company's ties with India, particularly in artificial intelligence. "We are making significant investments in AI in India and plan to do so even more. We've established various initiatives and collaborations," Pichai said, emphasizing Google's ongoing support for India's digital growth.

During the discussion, Modi urged global IT businesses to strengthen their ties with India and "do more" for the country. "He has always encouraged all of us to achieve more, especially for India. Now he's asking us to do the same with AI," Pichai explained. He applauded Modi's idea of utilizing AI to serve the Indian public, saying, "He has a clear vision that it should all be in the service of the people of India."

The meeting, which was held at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in New York, brought together important personalities from the tech industry, including Adobe CEO Shantanu Narayen, IBM CEO Arvind Krishna, and AMD CEO Lisa Su. The discussion discussed cooperation in developing fields such as semiconductors, AI, quantum computing, and biology. Modi's presentation to the CEOs emphasized India's potential as a hub for technology innovation and encouraged them to look into investment possibilities in the country's growing digital industry.

Addressing the Indian diaspora in New York, Modi discussed a new type of AI, which he referred to as the "American-Indian spirit," reflecting the two nations' growing links. "For the world, AI stands for artificial intelligence, but for me, AI also represents the American-Indian spirit," said Modi, highlighting the contributions of Indian talent to global technology.

Modi plans to attend the "Summit of the Future" at the United Nations General Assembly before returning to India, where he will continue to fight for India's expanding position in global technology and innovation.
