The CEO and Managing Director of Luminous Power Technologies Pvt. Ltd., Preeti Bajaj, has been elected as the next President of the Indian Battery Manufacturers Association (IBMA). The election was held on August 28, 2024, during the Third Annual General Meeting of the IBMA, which was held in New Delhi. An indication of the rising importance of India's battery manufacturing sector is the high turnout of regulatory authorities and IBMA members at the meeting.

Following Arun Mittal of Exide Industries Ltd., who has been honored for his innovative and committed contribution to the association, as Vice President of IBMA, Preeti Bajaj assumes the leadership role. The next Vice President of IBMA is Rajesh Jindal, President and Chief Marketing Officer of Amara Raja Energy & Mobility Ltd.

Preeti Bajaj's goal in her new position is to further IBMA's objective of developing an inventive, sustainable, and competitive battery manufacturing sector in India. She intends to progress technology, encourage environmentally friendly behavior, and strengthen India's standing as the world's first energy nation. In addition to expressing her gratitude for taking on this responsibility, Bajaj stressed the value of teamwork in advancing the sector both domestically and globally.

During the meeting, the Delhi Pollution Control Committee acknowledged the efforts of IBMA and its suggestions for adhering to the Battery Waste Management Rules (2022). This further emphasized the association's continuous efforts.
