Micromax Informatics, a home-grown consumer electronics brand, launched Startup Energy on Wednesday, marking its entry into the renewable energy segment.

This new venture aims to transform solar panel manufacturing in India, promoting widespread adoption of sustainable energy and supporting the country's ambitious clean energy mission, according to a company statement.

It added that as the world accelerates its transition to clean energy, Startup Energy is poised to play a pivotal role in India's renewable energy revolution.

The company will concentrate on producing high-efficiency solar panels for residential, commercial, and industrial applications, ensuring cost-effective and scalable solar power solutions across the nation.

"Our goal is to make clean energy more accessible, reliable, and cost-effective, ensuring that individuals and businesses alike can benefit from sustainable power solutions," said Rajesh Agarwal, Managing Director of Micromax Informatics.

As part of this expansion, Micromax has signed a strategic agreement with China's Jinchen for the phased deployment of a 5GW advanced solar module manufacturing line. This project will be completed in stages, combining automation and high-efficiency module production technologies to provide solar solutions.

Startup Energy will build a manufacturing facility with advanced automation and precision engineering. The company will also look into strategic R&D partnerships to create next-generation solar solutions that improve energy efficiency and long-term sustainability.
