In Wayanad, Kerala, which has been devastated by landslides, the government has upgraded and repaired the telecom infrastructure to provide constant coverage and vital public, government, and rescue team communication.

Control rooms, relief distribution centers, and emergency response teams have been mobilized to assist the people of Wayanad, according to the Ministry of Communications.

In the Wayanad district's Chooralmala and Mundakkai districts, which have experienced landslides, Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) is offering 4G services.

"Diesel engines are equipped to guarantee the towers' operation in the event of a power outage. The district administration now has fast Internet access, and the Kerala government's Health Department has toll-free phones," the Center announced.

Airtel is offering prepaid users whose validity has ended and who are unable to recharge 1GB of free mobile data per day, unlimited talking, and 100 SMS per day (usable for three days).

In order to guarantee uninterrupted mobile service for all postpaid users, Airtel has also extended bill payment periods by 30 days.

Additionally, Vodafone Idea (Vi) has stated that prepaid subscribers would receive a free daily allowance of 1GB of mobile data for seven days. The additional data will be automatically credited to users' accounts, allowing them to conveniently and uninterruptedly access information and maintain relationships with loved ones.

According to the Center, Vodafone Idea has extended the deadlines for bill payments for postpaid clients by ten days. There are at least 297 dead, 200 missing, and several destroyed habitations as a result of the natural calamity. Over 8,000 individuals have been securely removed and placed in 82 relief camps.
