Sharjah Research, Technology, and Innovation Park (SRTI Park) has signed memorandums of understanding with three leading Italian institutions as part of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan's state visit to the Italian Republic and the UAE-Italy Business Forum, which was attended by His Highness and Giorgia Meloni, Prime Minister of Italy.

Over the next three years, the agreements are meant to draw a large number of small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs) and startups from Italy to SRTI Park, increasing joint investments in innovation and technology.

The MoUs were signed by Andersen Italy, the Italian division of Andersen Global, a global tax, legal, and financial consulting firm; Italiacamp, an organization devoted to generating economic and social value for Italy; and SRTI Park and Kilometro Rosso, one of Europe's preeminent centers of science and technology.

According to the agreements, approximately 100 Italian companies will establish operations at SRTI Park by 2028. These will include cutting-edge tech startups, SMEs, and small enterprises engaged in fields such as robotics, autonomous driving, space, water treatment and desalination, medical devices, AI-assisted diagnostics, new materials, architecture, and interior design.

icola Bettio, Director of Innovation and Research Ecosystem at SRTI Park, stated, "This agreement is a significant step toward fostering synergy between Italian tech startups, technology organizations, and SRTI Park. "The four organizations are committed to leveraging innovation, research, and deep-tech collaboration to create long-term impact in Italy and the UAE."
