stc Bahrain Inks MoU with SCE to Establish E-Waste Monitoring System

Stc Bahrain and the Supreme Council for the Environment (SCE) have inked a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to establish an Internet of Things (IoT)-enabled electronic trash transportation monitoring system.

Dr. Mohammed bin Mubarak Bin Dainah, Minister of Environment and Oil and Special Envoy for Climate Affairs, and Khalid Al Osaimi, CEO of stc Bahrain, inked the deal.

Dr. Bin Dainah stressed that the implementation of this electronic monitoring system is in line with the directive of His Highness Shaikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Chairman of the Supreme Council for the Environment and Personal Representative of His Majesty the King, to improve governance in sustainable development, waste management, and environmental protection. It also reinforces pollution control measures.

He emphasized how important environmental initiatives that help achieve sustainable development goals are facilitated by the Ministerial Committee for Development initiatives and Infrastructure, which is chaired by Deputy Prime Minister Shaikh Khalid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa.

The minister mentioned that in order to implement a new vehicle licensing system, the SCE has held seminars for trash transportation businesses in partnership with stc Bahrain.

In order to implement the ministerial resolution, which intends to prevent unlawful garbage disposal through improved coordination among all pertinent players, he also emphasized the significance of collaboration between trash transportation companies, waste producers, and recycling and treatment firms.

Al Osaimi praised the strategic collaboration between the SCE and STC Bahrain on this national project. He reaffirmed the business's dedication to advancing Bahrain's environmental sustainability objectives.

He emphasized how technology may help create a more sustainable future and reaffirmed STC Bahrain's dedication to using its knowledge and cutting-edge technological prowess to make sure this project succeeds.
