Tivolt Electric Vehicles Pvt Ltd, the EV branch of the Murugappa Group, has inked a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Tata Power Renewable Energy Ltd to improve e-mobility for commercial vehicles, a top official said.
The cooperation intends to create a strong electric vehicle charging ecosystem by combining Tata Power's expertise in diverse EV charging solutions with Tivolt Electric cars' fast expanding network of small electric commercial cars across the country.
According to the MoU, Tata Power Renewable Energy Ltd will provide its significant experience in establishing and operating a large EV charging infrastructure to Tivolt Electric Vehicles' dealerships, public areas, and client sites.
Tata Power Renewable Energy Ltd would also look at integrating solar energy systems to power Tivolt Electric Vehicles Pvt Ltd's dealerships.
Deepesh Nanda, CEO and Managing Director of Tata Power Renewable Energy Ltd, commented on the MoU signing, saying, "Through our partnership with Tivolt, we are enhancing our EV charging network to empower the small and commercial vehicle segment—the key drivers of India's economy—as they ensure seamless last-mile deliveries and efficient transportation."
"A robust and well-integrated EV ecosystem will accelerate the adoption of commercial EVs, thereby propelling India's energy transition and paving the way for a more sustainable future," according to Nanda.
Tivolt Electric Vehicles CEO Saju Nair exchanged paperwork with Tata Power Renewable Energy Ltd's Head of Business Development - EV Charging, Virendra Goyal, during an event.
"We are pleased to collaborate with Tata Power. This will be a critical enabler in the electric adoption journey, and the strategic cooperation will speed up the development of EV charging infrastructure," Nair stated.
