In accordance with the directives given by the Governor on Thursday, the Special Investigation Team (SIT) at the Andhra Pradesh State Crime Investigation Department (APCID) office in Kunchanapalli has temporarily ceased its operations. The AP FiberNet office, situated in Vijayawada's NTR Administration Block, received similar orders.
Furthermore, employees were instructed not to remove any computers, laptops, or other electronic devices from the offices without higher officials' consent.
The decision was made in response to concerns about anomalies at the two YSRC-mandated offices. It should be noted that the AP State Secretariat's e-office section was closed on Wednesday as well.
A political uproar was caused by the reported burning of several documents close to the SIT office premises in April. TDP leaders claimed that the CID detectives purposefully set the documents and significant pieces of evidence on fire. TDP leaders, including Nara Lokesh and others, later felt that the records had been destroyed as part of a scheme.
The Governor was notified by TDP leaders about the destruction and deletion of papers from the laptops.
After that, the governor gave the relevant officials the order to confiscate any records and keep any data that was in the top bureaucrats' offices. The chief secretary, special chief secretaries, major secretaries, secretaries, and department heads all received pertinent instructions.
